CinePedia is an essential resource for University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh students who want to share their filmmaking experiences and learn more about the visual universe. The Spring 2023 edition emphasizes the importance of animation in film.

This issue, titled “Significance of Animation in Cinema,” highlights the growing influence of animation in film. Animation greatly influences film because it allows for better artistic expression, draws a diverse audience, and showcases technological advancements. The emotional resonance within characters propels diverse storytelling and ensures cultural representation. 2D hand-drawn animation, stop-motion animation, and computer-generated imagery (CGI) provide inventive narrative, emotional resonance, and cultural interaction. Animation also promotes inclusivity and cultural exchange, fostering empathy and cultural interaction.

As an editor for this issue of CinePedia, I strongly believe that animation in cinema has the ability to uplift and inspire audiences in a variety of ways, including encouraging imagination, overcoming obstacles, spreading positive messages, portraying a diverse cast of characters, fostering empathy, promoting emotional well-being, igniting interest in careers, and fostering social impact. Its capacity to arouse the imagination, spread uplifting ideas, and foster inclusivity and empathy can result in individual growth and a sense of community. Additionally, animation can encourage people to pursue meaningful vocations, including animators, artists, and storytellers, as well as encourage social influence and activism. Overall, animated films have the power to inspire, motivate, and empower people, which makes them a major addition to the cinematic canon.

The CinePedia edition’s success is a testament to our beloved adviser Nandita Tabassum Khan Ma’am and Chief Advisor Jude William R. Genillo’s unwavering assistance. Instructor Zahid Gogon Sir provided valuable advice, and the committed writers’ talents and passion were critical. I am grateful to M. D. Mahabubul Alam Antor, our former CEO, who suggested my name for the CinePedia Editor position. We also appreciate the writers’ patience and assistance throughout the semester. The executive team is also deserving of praise for their support throughout the semester. These individuals’ combined efforts have brought this edition of CinePedia to life, and I am grateful to each of them for their vital contributions.

As the editor of CinePedia, I had an excellent time discussing cinema with ULAB students. I sincerely apologize for any errors and wish CinePedia ongoing success and recognition.
