This is the ninth issue of CinemaScope’s mouthpiece, CinePedia: a platform for young minds to share their thoughts and experiences with ease. The theme for this semester is Women in Cinema: the new horizon. We chose this topic because we felt that the contribution women have made in Bangladeshi and South East Asian cinema for the last few decades was not being recognized appropriately. We believe it is time these contributions and struggles are acknowledged through our very own publication, CinePedia. We have tried to cover different sectors with interviews and articles from both the Bangladeshi and Indian film industries. I hope this issue will be an eye opener for us to understand the significant participation of Women in the development of South Asian cinema. I would like to thank Nandita Tabassum Khan for her support, patience and love. I would like to thank our advisor Mohan ad Shazzad Hossain for his trust and guidance. Special thanks to our beloved Head of Department Dr. Jude William R. Genilo for his constant faith and support he has given us for years. Lastly, I would like to thank our Instructor Zahid Masan and my dear executives for being with me through the good and the bad. Special thanks to the young writers for their contributions in this issue. I would like to apologize in advance for any mistake made. May CinePedia grow and set new heights in Film. Studies.
